Yes, yes, y’all! The Friday Four is back in full effect! Every Friday, I bring you four links, news articles, blog posts, etc. to check out. I have so much info to share, and this is just one way I try to give you small chunks of it. You can also follow me on Twitter or add me as a friend on Facebook to get similar status updates with frequent helpful links as well. And hereeee we go…

  • I told you nonprofits are still hiring. My fellow blogger in Philly, Kathrin Ivanovic, just landed herself a sweet new job as Director of Development. Send her congrats on Twitter!
  • Allison Jones wrote a great post this week reminding us not to be so grateful that we still have a job in this weak economy that we just start coasting. We still need to keep learning and growing. And it’s OK to complain about your job – as long as you push yourself to make it better!
  • Black Gives Back tips us off that the NACCP will be hosting its very first ever Presidential Inauguration Ball as part of its 10th Anniversary. Now THAT’S what I’m talking about!
  • This is the second time I’ve heard this sentiment in the last week: Sam Davidson says nonprofits should hire teenagers to manage their social media:

“Instead of sending your 61-year-old CEO to a social networking seminar, just find a 15-year-old and tell them you want to find new volunteers using free online tools. They’ll hook you up quicker and better than your head honcho learning how to poke people.”

Thanks! I am settling in. The work is quite challenging and extremely rewarding at the same time.

Several other people I know landed new non-profit jobs recently. Unfortunately none of them have much of an on-line presence.
