Rosetta, your advice and the comments here are priceless! I've always wanted to help others but I never really knew how to before reading this post. I am a senior in a Human Services Admin. undergrad major and I've been looking for ways to "get out there" in the Human Services field. Aside from full-time school and full-time work, I still have many hours of free time that I am eager to devote to a worthy cause. Serving on a nonprofit board will give me the experience I need and a better perspective on the types of communities I'll be serving. Thank you very much for this post and all of your others. Keep up the great work!

Is it possible to join a non-profit board if you have not completed your education? Most boards that I have researched have members who have well established careers and community ties.
