Southern Partners Fund Hosts Young Leaders for Social Change Gathering Oct. 23-24

If you’re a young person interested in social justice, I would encourage you to attend if you can. This is not your typical conference, with sessions, workshops, and discussions led by young leaders and people of color. There will even be a spoken word artist! Plus, I’ll be there – blogging, learning, and connecting. Hope to see you!

Young Leaders for Social Change Gathering L:ogo

Southern Partners Fund (SPF) invites you to attend a convening of young leaders from across the United States. This inaugural gathering will build the individual and collective leadership capacity and voice of young leaders who are committed to social change and equity in the rural South. You must register in order to attend this event.

Rep. Alisha Thomas Morgan
Political Voice • Inspirational Speaker • Empowering Trainer

A courageous champion for justice, equality and empowering communities, Morgan made history in November 2002 by becoming the first African-American to serve in the Georgia House of Representatives for Cobb County. In November 2008, she was elected to her fourth term, winning over 72% of the vote. At age 30, Morgan remains the youngest female member of the entire Georgia General Assembly. A powerful political voice, inspirational speaker and empowering trainer, Morgan is one of today’s trailblazing architects for change.

SPF?s Young Leaders for Social Change, a first initiative of SPF?s Social Justice Institute aims to increase skills, knowledge, advocacy, and civic participation among young and emerging community organizers, nonprofit professionals, college and university students, and philanthropic practitioners, ages 18-35, who are committed to social change in Atlanta, Georgia and across the rural South.
