I think its part of a general commerce transformation: more and more monetary transactions take place online, and I think that's just gonna continue. Not to mention how much easier it is to give to charities online, i imagine in the near future the vast majority of all philanthropic giving will be done online.
  • I'd like to know if you think technology is disrupting philanthropy in paradigm shifting ways. I was at a recent meeting to discuss a paper titled "Disrupting Philanthropy" (blogged about at http://geofflivingston.com/2010/03/02/959) and the conversation left me wanting to hear what others are thinking. Is this really a revolution or is there something much less significant going on? For those of you who think, as I do, that there is something larger going on, what's the most exciting, transformative piece of it? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
