I think its part of a general commerce transformation: more and more monetary transactions take place online, and I think that's just gonna continue. Not to mention how much easier it is to give to charities online, i imagine in the near future the vast majority of all philanthropic giving will be done online.

I'd like to know if you think technology is disrupting philanthropy in paradigm shifting ways. I was at a recent meeting to discuss a paper titled "Disrupting Philanthropy" (blogged about at http://geofflivingston.com/2010/03/02/959) and the conversation left me wanting to hear what others are thinking. Is this really a revolution or is there something much less significant going on? For those of you who think, as I do, that there is something larger going on, what's the most exciting, transformative piece of it? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
