Thank you for checking out my blog after seeing the feature written about me in JET Magazine (and thanks to one of my Twitter followers @MzLadyRose for the photo)! It’s an honor to be able to share my story and I appreciate the vision of the editors for their new focus on the younger generation of leaders. Here is a link to read the entire article, “Social Media’s World Changer.” In case you’re new here, I wanted to share a bit about me by way of introduction as well as some of my most useful/interesting posts you may want to start with.
Who I am and why I’m here: My mission is to empower a new generation of leaders to create the world as it should be. Fueled by a passion for social change, I worked in the nonprofit community for eight years as a fundraiser and
leadership development practitioner before founding Thurman Consulting, an education company that specializes in leadership, entrepreneurship and social media initiatives to help purpose-driven professionals make a difference.
What I do: I offer speaking, training and coaching services for nonprofit leaders and passionate entrepreneurs. Here is a link to some of my presentations, workshops and speaking topics. And here is a link with more information about my services for nonprofits and small businesses. I am also the co-author of How to Become a Nonprofit Rockstar, 50 Ways to Accelerate Your Career, an accessible, do-it-yourself map of how to build a successful career in the nonprofit sector. Here is a link to buy the book.
