Happy One-Year Anniversary to How to Become a Nonprofit Rockstar! Plus, Free Stuff for You

One year ago this week (Yes, ONE WHOLE ENTIRE YEAR. Can you believe it?), Trista Harris and I released our book, How to Become a Nonprofit Rockstar: 50 Ways to Accelerate Your Career. Break out the balloons! Confetti! Cake! Bourbon!It’s our one-year anniversary.

I’m basking in celebration and gratitude today thinking about how the book and the tour have both been such a labor of love and service to the nonprofit community. Thank you so much for being on this journey with us. Seriously, promoting this book on our own (without a publisher! or a publicist! or money!) has been a completely grassroots effort and we appreciate everything that you have done – every tweet, every Facebook status, every blog post, every shoutout – to help spread the word.

We never imagined the sort of reception that the book would receive – garnering amazing buzz, selling hundreds of copies and helping countless readers take action to advance their careers. We have heard from readers as far away as Tanzania, where the President of a Civil Society Foundation in Dar es Salaam has gotten two copies so far because her last signed copy was borrowed and not returned. We’ve been especially grateful for the many readers that have told their colleagues about the book, participated in our first Leadership Intensive, and worked like crazy to bring us to their towns as part of the Nonprofit Rockstar Tour. Without your help we couldn’t have gotten this message out across the country.
